Non sono in grado di dire se essa esiste in tutte le gelaterie dello stivale, se in alcune sia protetta dal WWF dei gelatai, se venga mantenuta in vita perchè piace ai nonni e ricorda loro quando i gusti erano solo 4 (quelli appunto della Mattonella) ma, qui, a Brescia c'è.
Da che ne ho ricordo, questa forma rettangolare di gelato la si trova a gusti fissi stratificati: Crema, Cioccolato, Nocciola e Torroncino.
Ecco, non mi è mai piaciuta.
Perchè il gusto Crema è giallo (e i gusti gialli non mi piacciono), perchè il Torroncino è stucchevole vicino alla Nocciola e lo strato Cioccolato è sempre troppo poco (una mattonella tutto cioccolato sarebbe andata bene).
Però, se sopravvive al gusto Puffo, a vari Cookies, ai Cioccolati peperoncinati, evidentemente a qualcuno piace e molto anche. Sospetto ai nonni o a quelli che, per sopraggiunta età, vorrebbero diventarlo.
Ecco spiegato come, giovedì, me la sono trovata davanti, a cena dai miei, dopo anni che non la vedevo. LEI. La Mattonella.

All'inizio era gioia: pacchettino Cremeria Italia = "Evviva, c'è il gelato!"
Poi delusione.
L'han mangiata tutti, tranne me, qualcuno ha anche fatto il bis.
Io, per dovere rispettoso verso ogni gelato, ho dato una cucchiainata ad ogni gusto. Rigorosamente separandoli.
Beh, se dovete proprio mangiarla, se proprio vi piace lo stile stratificato fossile, quella della Cremeria Italia è fatta proprio bene.
Il torroncino sa di torroncino e la nocciola di nocciola; ed è importante, perchè stanno vicini e il duo non si può ridurre ad una variazione cromatica! La Cremeria Italia queste cose le sa e la sua Mattonella è impeccabile. Da anni.
Ora...un dubbio mi sorge improvviso: non è che il segreto della Mattonella è che si devono mescolare i gusti prendendone una sola cucchiaionata di tutti!!
(mai fatto, giuro, sono una purista del gusto.Come per l'alcool: non mischio!)
...uhm...uhmmmmmmmmmm.....chissà se nel freezer dei miei ne è rimasto un pezzo.....

Customs n.1: the Mattonella
I am not able to say whether it exists in all the ice cream parlors of Italy, if it's protected by WWF or if it would be kept alive because the grandparents likes it and reminds them when the tastes were only 4 (precisely those of the "Mattonella") but here, in Brescia there is.
From what I remember, you can find this rectangular shape of ice cream in fixed, stratified, flavours: Crema (Cream), Cioccolato (Chocolate), Nocciola (Hazelnut) and Torroncino (Nougat).
Here, I have never liked it.
Because there is the taste "Crema" which is yellow (I do not like yellow flavours), because "Nocciola" is filling close to the layer Nocciola and Chocolate is always too little (instead, a tile all of chocolate would be fine).
However, if it survives the taste Puffo (Smurf), the varying Cookies (Cookies), the Cioccolato with red pepper, is obvious that someone likes it. I suspect the grandparents or those, who below the age, would like to become one.
This explains how, on Thursday, after haven't seen it in years, I've found myself in front of it, at a parent's dinner. HER. The Mattonella.
At first I was happy: Italian creamery packet = "Hooray, there's ice cream!"
Then disappointment.
All my parents eaten it except me, someone even did a refill.
I, for duty respectful towards each ice cream, gave it some mini dollop. Strictly separating every taste.
Well, if you must eat it, if you like it's style of layered fossil, that of the shop "Cremeria Italia" is made just fine.
The Nocciola taste of Nocciola and Torroncino tase of Torroncino, and it's important, because they're neighbors and the duo cannot be reduced to a color change! The Cremeria Italia knows these things and it's Mattonella is impeccable. In years.
Now ... I have a doubt sudden rises: isn't that, the secret of Mattonella, can be that you have to combine the tastes and taking a spoon with all!
(never done it, I swear, I'm a purist of flavour. Just like for alcohol: don't mix!)
..uhm...uhmmmmmmmmmm .... perhaps in the freezer of my parents there's one piece left .....
